Munich's ROY was cult. After the closure of the legendary bar at Sendlinger Tor, the former hosts Roy Dubowy and Günther Grauer are sitting in a movie theater a good years later in a movie theater. A film is being shown that was made shortly before  the interior of the ROY was demolished. Thereby
guests and celebrities talk about 62 years of bar history. Sitting in their cinema armchairs, Dubowy and Grauer comment on the images on the screen, reminisce about some of the anecdotes and the many illustrious rounds in Munich's plush living room.
Generations of artists and music enthusiasts felt at home in the ROY. The film also takes us behind the scenes and reveals many a reveals some of the things that originated in the ROY. At the big surprise follows ...
ROY is the cinematic chronicle of a lost era. The documentary awakens memories of six decades of Munich through the retro photos, the documentary evokes memories of six decades of Munich night culture. Before the film is a reminiscence of an unforgettable place in Munich and the people who made it so.

The Museum Lichtspiele will be celebrating the premiere of the docudrama ROY – EINE LEGENDE GEHT ZU ENDE by Franz Meiller on June 19.
