A Perfect Day

A PERFECT DAY begins with a simple, linear narrative that transforms into a full and vivid study of personal awakening. The film intimately chronicles a crucial twenty-four-hour period in the life of Claudia and her son Malek. Claudia‘s husband has been missing for more than fifteen years – since the days of the terrible conflict (in Lebanon) that resulted in the deaths of more than one hundred thousand citizens – and they have finally decided to officially report him dead... It is a profound exploration of the psychological impact of years of perdition on a typical family and a gripping consideration of how Lebanon might recover the soul those devastating, divisive years seemed to take away. As in a classical tragedy, the characters appear to be deprived of choices, but the end of this remarkable film offers hope, light and, finally, a bright, open horizon.
