Two blood brothers, Vitomir and Serafim, are so successful as smugglers that they are set up by a rival Balkan crime boss. Serafin is caught, Vitomir escapes to Italy. 50 years later, Vitomir confesses to his son, Santini, that he betrayed his brother. Santini is to make amends. In the meantime, war is raging in Macedonia and Serafin's son, Trendafil, has escaped to Bulgaria, where his granny dies. Attempting to smuggle her back home to be buried, the carpet she is wrapped in is stolen. Trendafil and Santini set out on a quest through the Balkan underworld to find her...
