Logline

A sensitive, life-affirming drama about a meeting of young and old, with a fantastic performance by Charlotte Rampling.

The death of his mother plunges a 17-year-old New Zealander named Sam into an existential crisis. When his churlish, alcoholic grandmother arrives from England on her first visit, Sam awakens from his lethargy. An extraordinary relationship develops between them that will change both of their lives forever.

JUNIPER

Matthew J. Saville

Born in Durban, South Africa, in 1977, Matthew J. Saville has been writing, directing, and acting in film, television, and on stage for nearly 20 years, both in New Zealand and the United States. His short films have received multiple awards. JUNIPER is his feature film debut as a writer and director. He is currently working on a feature-length version of his short film DIVE, which premiered at the Telluride Film Festival and was honored as best film at the Show Me Shorts Film Festival.
