An involuntary nighttime car ride swerves out of control. NOTTE FANTASMA takes us along on the breathless road trip of two protagonists who are polar opposites.
Young Tarek has some weed in his pocket as he's on his way to meeting some friends. He's stopped by a plainclothes patrol on a deserted street. Instead of letting him off with a warning, the shady policeman forces Tarek to get in his car. But is this scruffy guy even a cop? Vague unease soon turns into a veritable nightmare, and it's almost inevitable that things will escalate.
Meet the director
Fulvio Risuleo
Fulvio Risuleo was born in Rome in 1991. He graduated from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in 2013 with a degree in film directing. The short film SOURDOUGH (2014), which he made for his graduation, took third place in the Cinéfoundation section at the Cannes Festival. The following year, his short film CHICKENPOX received the Semaine de la Critique award at the same festival. In 2014, Risuleo made a short documentary for the Internet called REPORTAGE BIZARRE. It's a collage of twenty fragments that describe typical Parisian neighborhoods in an unusual way. His eight-episode crime story IL CASO ZIQQURAT was Italy's first interactive Web series. In 2017, Risuleo made his first feature film, GUARDA IN ALTO, followed by THE DOG SNATCH in 2019, both of which were screened in competition at the Rotterdam Film Festival. Risuleo is also a cartoonist: in collaboration with Antonio Pronostico, he created "Sniff" (2019) and "Tango" (2021), both of which were published by Coconino Press.
