Kashmir, the eternal flashpoint, with a visually beguiling anthem for justice.
In the city of Srinagar in Kashmir, Nargis tries to locate her husband, Manzoor, whom the government had arrested for joining a militant resistance group. But when she loses her job, she's forced to return to her home village. With a little help from a local man named Yaseen, she toils away silently on an exquisite weave. When Manzoor reappears unexpectedly, emotional turmoil ensues.

Aamir Bashir
Aamir Bashir was born in Srinagar, Kashmir. After his schooling in Kashmir, he earned a degree in history from St. Stephen's College in Delhi and went on to study law at Delhi University. After working in television as a reporter and the host of a travel show, he moved to Mumbai in 1998 to pursue a career as an actor. Bashir has appeared in various films, such as FROZEN, HAIDER, GURAGON, and LAAL KAPTAAN, as well as Web series such as SACRED GAMES and INSIDE EDGE. Bashir directed his first film, AUTUMN, which premiered at the 2010 Toronto International Film Festival and received the 2012 National Film Award for best feature film in Urdu. THE WINTER WITHIN is his second film as a director.
