Logline

A film about the incalculability that people of the industrial age prefer to suppress. But in wonderfully vibrant colors, the truth comes to light.

Robin works at a cannery in the seemingly peaceful Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, Canada. One day at work, she notices what she believes to be an invasive insect that could threaten the livelihood of her entire town. Worried, she tries to convince those around her of the impending danger, but no one will take her (justifiable) warning seriously. Robin becomes increasingly alienated from her friends and family.

Sophie Jarvis

Sophie Jarvis attended Simon Fraser University, where she made the short film THE WORST DAY EVER, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2012. Since then, she has gone on to direct primarily live-action shorts, including MEDICAL DRAMA (Clermont-Ferrand, 2019) and COME TO YOUR SENSES (co-directed with Alicia Eisen). Her background as a production designer informs her practice as a director. Her first feature film, UNTIL BRANCHES BEND, had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2022.
