Paolo Genovese is officially a record holder - his comedy PERFETTI SCONOSCIUTI is considered the worldwide remake leader with more than 20 local remakes. Bora Dağtekin scored a hit with audiences in this country with his adaptation DAS PERFEKTE GEHEIMNIS, attracting over 5 million viewers to theaters.

Born in Rome in 1966, the director first worked in advertising and directed more than 300 award-winning commercials. In 1998, he began his collaboration with Luca Miniero: the duo's feature film debut, the comedy INCANTESIMO NAPOLETANO (2002), was awarded the most important Italian film prize, the David di Donatello, as well as two Golden Globes. His solo directorial debut followed with THE SANTA CLAUS GANG (2010). At the 2016 Tribeca Festival, Genovese won the Best Screenplay award with PERFETTI SCONOSCIUTI. His new film IL PRIMO GIORNO DELLA MIA VITA, which will be screened at the Film Festival, is the film adaptation of his best-selling novel of the same name published in May 2018.
