Woman On Fire Looks For Water
WOMAN ON FIRE LOOKS FOR WATER tells the story of a father and son, and their relationships with women in their lives. Ah Fei sells frogs from his motorbike, while his father, Ah Khan, is part of a dying breed of fishermen in an old coastal village. They share a quiet, but strong relationship. The film follows these two characters as one of them faces death, while the other is just becoming a man. Production Notes "The setting proves to be an effective backdrop for the feelings of longing and regret that make up the main narrative... The film’s title is taken from a Buddhist text, and is interpreted by the director as indicating a resignation to one’s fate." Darcy Paquet, Screen Daily, Oct. 16, 2009
