Shore Of Hope

The story of two young stevedores in Rostock, Cornelis Schmidt and Andreas Hornung who, in the early eighties, dreamed of going to sea. Until one day Cornelis' love for a young Vietnamese girl, Phuong Mai, and the betrayal of a co-worker have disastrous consequences for both of them. A story about personal destinies in a repressive country, about hopes, longings, disappointments and about what people are willing to sacrifice for their dreams.
