Yema

In a small abandoned house isolated in the Algerian countryside, Ouardia has buried her son Tarik. She suspects her other son, Ali, leader of an armed Islamic group, of being involved in his death. Ali has sent one of his guards to watch her. In this universe, stricken by drought and tense with pain, life tries to reassert itself…

"Ouardia speaks little, if at all. She acts. Upon the passing of the days, for survival. And upon nature as well, a character in the film in its own right. At first arid, parched, and infertile, nature tries to come back to life. More precisely, Ouardia brings it to life by working the land. A baby (the son of her son) is the fragile link that connects Ouardia with the future, with hope."
