When Silence sings

"When silence sings" shows how, through live music, silent films come to life. The documentary portrait of the film-obsessed artist, Aljoscha Zimmermann and his music deciphers how he gives a whole genre, the film concert, a new life of its own. The professor at the Hochschule für Musik in Munich has accompanies silent films since 1988, solo or with an ensemble. He regularly performs at film festivals around the world.
