Homage To Joe Hembus
Joe Hembus (1933 – 1985) made a name for himself as an expert and profound authority on German cinema but also as one of the founding fathers of FILMFEST MÜNCHEN. His book “Der deutsche Film kann gar nicht besser sein” (German Cinema Can’t Get Any Better) (1961) paved the way for the Oberhausen Manifesto and the ‘New Wave’ of German cinema. In honor of the 30th anniversary of his death, FILMFEST MÜNCHEN is holding a homage to Joe Hembus at which his work and his influence on German cinema will be discussed.
Open to the public. Please be sure to reserve tickets ahead of time online or at the Box Office.
Please note: During the event there will be a screening of DER PLATZANWEISER - PORTRÄT EINES KINOMANEN (75 Min.) .
