The Münchner Kammerspiele is the theater for bold, contemporary theater art. It brings together outstanding contemporary artists and offers them unique conditions to further develop their work.
As the "theater of the city", it has special ties to Munich and its history. Even when it was founded in the 1910s and 20s, the Kammerspiele was a theater for the new and the unexpected. Until the fascists seized power, it was a place of artistic resistance and a theater with close ties to Eastern and Central Europe.
