This year, we are honoring the versatile Oscar winners Jessica Lange and Kate Winslet with the CineMerit Award. In addition, two tributes complete the overall program: We are expecting the rebellious Japanese director Shin'ya Tsukamoto in Munich and will be showing three of his films. In addition, three films by the Iranian-German director Sohrab Shahid Saless will be shown, whose films focus primarily on dealing with Germany's Nazi past.

In addition to a cooperation with the Museum Brandhorst about underground New York in the 1980s, FILMFEST MÜNCHEN 2024 also has a Focus on Ukraine, consisting of two documentaries and a short film reel.
Pavillon 333 will host an exhibition of Michael Althen's VHS collection during the festival. And we are cooperating with the Münchner Kammerspiele for a special film event in the theater.
