CINEMA AFTER CORONA - FESTIVALS AS LABS FOR THE FUTURE OF FILM CULTURE?

While regular cinema operations came to a complete standstill during the two long phases of the Corona-related lockdown, film festivals created various opportunities to ensure the basic supply of high-quality cinema culture in a very short time. The international film industry has intensively and gratefully accepted and taken advantage of these offers. If the cinemas can now return to more or less regular operations, the crucial question is what of the film festivals' experiments that were necessary in the crisis can and will be incorporated into the perspective of cinema.
The panel of AG Filmfestival in cooperation with FILMFEST MÜNCHEN will give representatives of the film industry the opportunity to share their most recent experiences and insights in their cooperation with film festivals, and in this way to make visible the opportunities and risks for the future.

Guests:
Jakob Kijas (managing director eksystent Filmverleih)
Philipp Kreuzer (Maze Pictures, chairman of Produzentenverband e.V.)
Christian Pfeil (Arena Filmtheater Betriebs GmbH, chairman of AG KINO)
Svenja Böttger (Director Festival Max Ophüls Preis)
Moderator: Skadi Loist, professor at Filmuniversität Babelsberg Konrad Wolf
