A multi-generational drama about self-assertion, culture clash, and reconciliation.
Azra and her mother, Mariam, seem to argue all the time. Mariam, a Pakistani immigrant, is troubled by the fact that her daughter is in a relationship with another woman. But when a tragedy occurs, Azra realizes that she and her mother have more in common than she might admit.

Meet the director
Fawzia Mirza
Fawzia Mirza was born in London, Ontario, Canada. After an initial career as an attorney, Mirza turned to acting and writing screenplays. Her debut as a director came in 2012, when she made the short film THE QUEEN OF MY DREAMS, on which she would base a stage play of the same title as well as her first feature-length film. Her stories often draw upon her experiences as a homosexual Muslim woman.
