Fiercely but empathetically, this drama tells the story of an outsider who’s given a second chance
Ambitions? That was then. History teacher Jacques Romand no longer has any illusions about his profession. That all changes when he meets Victor, a 14-year-old Roma boy who’s about to rob a store with some other kids. Moved by the youngster’s lot in life, Jacques decides to look after him, and in so doing regains his motivation. .

Nicolas Boukhrief
Nicolas Bouhkrief was born in Antibes, France, in 1963. His debut as director came with VA MOURIRE in 1995. His films often deal with societal issues. The thriller MADE IN FRANCE (FILMFEST MÜNCHEN 2016), for example, describes the formation of a terrorist cell, while THE CONFESSION (2016) addresses religious and existential themes. The literary adaptation THREE DAYS AND A LIFE (2019) is about a village that experiences a series of tragedies.
