A stunning martial arts spectacle.
China in the 1920s: Qi Quan was expecting to inherit his father’s martial arts academy when he died. Instead, the school is bequeathed to star apprentice Shen An. Qi Quan won’t give up so easily, though. As the two men vie for status and honor, the city’s residents face the fundamental question of how to move forward while being held back by street gangs and French colonial society.

Meet the director
Haofeng Xu, Junfeng Xu
Haofeng Xu was born in China in 1973. His filmmaking debut came with THE SWORD IDENTITY (2011), which premiered in Venice. He also wrote the award-winning screenplay for THE GRANDMASTER (2013). His autobiographical novel "The Bygone Kung Fu World" was published in 2006.
Junfeng Xu worked in film distribution prior to co-directing his first film, 100 YARDS (2023), with his brother, Haofeng Xu.
