A world premiere: A drama spoken in dialect about a young farmer making her way in a family tradition.
Milk has been an unprofitable commodity for a while now. Farming in general is suffering, and more and more farms are having to close. But Katinka is holding on to the family business, is being trained in farming, and is seeking her future in a place that remembers how things once were.

Justine Bauer
Justine Bauer grew up on an ostrich farm in Germany. She studied fine arts at the Academy of Visual Arts Leipzig and then directing and screenwriting at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne (KHM). SMELL OF BURNT MILK is her graduation film at the KHM as well as her debut film. She is currently working on her second film, DIE KÄLTE BRENNENDER FICHTEN, and her multiple award-winning emerging novel, “Die Brombeeren mit Wanzenspeichel”.
