Logline

A documentary about personal bereavement that is also a life-affirming portrayal of youth.

The death of her dear brother takes Robie Flores back to her hometown on the border between Texas and Mexico. She reflects on her memories of the deceased, with whom she shared a passion for movies. While in Eagle Pass, she captures in numerous vignettes what it means to grow up there. In the process, she finds happiness in the lives of others.

THE IN BETWEEN

Robie Flores

Robie Flores is an independent filmmaker and video editor who is based in New Orleans and Eagle Pass, Texas. Her work explores the experiences of Mexican-American communities. THE IN BETWEEN is her first documentary feature; it premiered at the South by Southwest festival in 2024. She also made a short documentary for the BRIDGE BUILDERS (2024) series about justice.
