A world premiere: A touching family drama about love and dependence.
Jann’s mother is creative and impulsive, but reveals her dark side when she cowers in panic, consumed by trauma. That’s when teenage Jann must go from child to caregiver, struggling on his own with the daily grind of school, his part-time job, and household chores. When he meets Selma, his life takes a completely new turn. The delicate domestic arrangement begins to falter.

Johannes Schmid
Johannes Schmid studied theater, film, German literature, and art history in Erlangen and Munich. His debut film, BLÖDE MÜTZE! (2007), premiered at the Berlinale. WINTERTOCHTER (2011) earned the German Film Award for best children’s film. GESCHICHTEN VOM FRANZ (2022) is based on books by Christine Nöstlinger. Schmid works in spoken and musical theater for the Bayerisches Staatsschauspiel, the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, and the Salzburg Festival.
