At the start of the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, Kristófer sets off from Iceland in search of Miko, the love of his life, whom he hasn’t seen in more than 50 years. Over the course of his journey, he recalls the London of the 1960s, where he’d met Miko in her father’s Japanese restaurant.

Meet the director
Baltasar Kormákur
Baltasar Kormákur studied acting at the Icelandic Academy of the Arts and had a very successful acting career on stage and screen in the 1990s. His first film as a director, 101 REYKJAVÍK, was an international hit in 2000. That same year, Kormákur was voted Newcomer of the Year at the Toronto International Film Festival. He is now regarded as one of the leading voices in Icelandic filmmaking.
