A touching drama about a search for belonging on the streets of La Paz.
Martin, a 13-year-old orphan, is a shoeshine boy. His best customer is Mr. Novoa, who loves his sheepdog like a son. The boy is driven by a singular desire: to find his biological father. Believing it might be Mr. Novoa, he kidnaps Novoa’s dog in order to spend more time with him. Searching for the dog together brings a surprising twist to their initially disparate bond.

Meet the director
Vinko Tomičić Salinas
Vinko Tomičić Salinas is a Chilean screenwriter, director, and producer. Together with Francisco Hevia, he directed the feature film EL FUMIGADOR (2016), which was awarded Best National Film at the Santiago Festival Internacional de Cine. EL LADRÓN DE PERROS (2024) is his first feature film; it had its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival this year.
