This is a documentary that gives a voice to individuals and their wartime experiences while achieving a poetic form of expression.
A young man and his team of volunteers evacuate residents from the front lines in eastern Ukraine as two elderly women struggle to assert their independence in their own way. A cinéma vérité look at the most vulnerable people in the country and at minor but critical acts of resistance.

Meet the director
Ivan Sautkin
Ivan Sautkin studied image design at the Kyiv National I. K. Karpenko-Karyi Theatre, Cinema and Television University and film at the Utrecht State Art Academy. He has made several documentary short films, feature-length films, and series. He also teaches courses in directing, is the founder of Babylon’13, a visual design collective, and runs the cultural institution Zhovid The Residence, where numerous artistic projects come to fruition.
