Art exists to be seen! In the favelas of Brazil, a secret society is busy making elaborately designed hot-air balloons up to 70 meters tall and flying them clandestinely. The authorities are trying to crack down on the community. Director Sissel Dargis Morell is right in the heart of it.

Meet the director
Sissel Morell Dargis
Sissel Dargis Morell’s involvement in the graffiti scene led her to photography and ultimately to documentary filmmaking. She attended the International School of Film and Television (EICTV) in Cuba, where she made several short documentaries. She then studied video games and animation at the National Film School of Denmark and developed the indie game Cai Cai Balão, which is based on this film.
