All events marked with this word are open to all interested parties free of charge. Here you can learn interesting facts about new developments in the media world and gain insights into the film industry. Anyone who would like to take a look behind the scenes is in the right place here.

Festival Lounge

In the garden of our festival center Amerikahaus (Karolinenplatz 3, 80333 Munich) you can visit our Festival Lounge from Friday, 28.06. to Sunday, 07.07.. Hot and cold drinks as well as snacks and finger food will be available there between 09:00 and 22:30.

FilmTalk

Big names from the international film world provide insights into their work and present their latest projects, which can also be seen at the festival. They will also have the opportunity to ask questions. These talks are all free to attend. You do not need a ticket. You can find an overview of all FilmTalks here.

Audience Day

Every day is an audience day for us, but on the second Sunday (07.07.) the low standard price of just €9.90 applies in all cinemas.

The CineMerit Award is FILMFEST MÜNCHEN's honorary prize, which honors an outstanding personality in international filmmaking for their services to the art of film.

This term refers to workshops, projects and events aimed at a young audience. The open lab aims to involve children, teenagers and young adults more closely in the festival (events).
Here you will find an overview of all events.

The competition section CineKindl (formerly Kinderfilmfest) shows all films for young-at-heart film fans aged 5 to 99. These films are also offered in morning screenings for school classes. Whether feature films, animated films or documentaries - all possible forms and narrative styles of cinema are shown here. In addition to the competition series, there is also a short film program aimed at our younger viewers.

Festival newspaper

This year's festival print product is a newspaper. There you will find all the films, all the information and a large timetable. The newspaper will be available throughout the city as soon as the film program is published. The newspaper is available only in German.

Press & Industry Screenings (P&I)

All film screenings marked with P&I on the website are screenings exclusively for accredited trade visitors to the festival. Access is only possible with an accreditation pass. Tickets can be purchased for all other screenings.

Isar Carpet

Our carpet at the film premieres is not red, but turquoise like the Isar in summer. The stars cavort on the Isar Carpet - and you can be right up close before the premieres.

Beergarden Convention

All events marked with Beergarden Convention are part of our industry platform. These are only accessible to accredited trade visitors.
