Psychotherapist Greta Charmeni is in a difficult phase of her life after the suicide of her husband Rainer, who was also her partner in her medical practice. She feels guilt over Rainer's death, and important decisions lie ahead in her professional life. She isn't sure what to do with her husband's patients, especially when Stephanie Wagner comes to see her: The young woman is addicted to rough sex and lets herself be humiliated by the men she is with, only to despise herself so much afterwards that she cuts herself. Greta feels Stephanie is not ready for therapy. Then she learns of the close relationship that apparently existed between Stefanie and her husband. Greta asks her former psychology teacher and analyst Benjamin Mahler for help, who was also Rainer's supervisor...
