#METOO: FAR ALONG OR JUST BEGINNING?

The #MeToo phenomenon has shaken up the film industry. Sexual harassment and violence are topics that are on the minds of many and that are discussed with an air of controversy. Calls for changes to workplace norms and for a new spirit of togetherness are growing louder. Lots of questions are raised, but for now there are few answers. At this event, we would like to offer information about pertinent legal considerations and illustrate ways to gain the trust of those affected and achieve clarification. On the one hand, personal contacts are the lifeblood of the industry. On the other, the industry is characterized by rigid hierarchies, dependencies, and asymmetric gender ratios. Thus one of the pivotal questions will be how to prevent negative consequences to the careers of those affected.
